A correct fitting saddle is a must for any horse and rider!
Always fit a saddle without a saddle pad first .
The saddle should not interfere with the horses shoulders ,the front of the saddle should be as high as the back, and the tree should fit the width of the horse and should not rock from side to side .
Saddle tree widths come in narrow ,medium ,and wide.
The saddle should be well padded underneath and you should be able to see the light right through to the front of the pommel , so that no part of the saddle touches the horses’ spine .
The riders physic should also be taken into consideration.
The saddle seat should be comfortable for the rider and the saddle flaps should match the rider’s leg length appropriately.
